Happy New Year to all!
Our January Clarkston Early Learning Network (CELN) meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, January 24, 12:30 p.m. at the Clarkston Library. Future meetings through June 2018 will be held the third Wednesday of each month, 12:30 p.m., Clarkston Library.
Thanks to all of you who attended the Emory student presentation of their “Community Assessment of Early Learning and Childcare Needs of Refugee Families in Clarkston, Georgia.” We agreed that the students conducted a very well done and informative study in just 3 months — and that CELN will build on that work to continue our planning and prioritization. We will have copies available at our next CELN meeting.
We are also pleased to announce that the City of Clarkston will sponsor the annual Clarkston Tell Me a Story! festival scheduled for May 12, 2018, at the Clarkston Community Center. Funding for the storytelling festival and a literacy campaign is included in the City of Clarkston’s 2018 budget.
Our July 24 agenda includes:
- Follow up to the Emory Student Report: Community Assessment of Early Learning and Childcare Needs of Refugee Families in Clarkston, Georgia. What did we learn from the study?
